How do I make them school! They look very messy all over the place. I have 10 of them

What else is in the tank? How big is the Tank?

Schooling fish school mainly for protection and comfort, but they don't need to school all the time.

I have 10 of them as well in their own 20 gallon tank right now and they roam all over the place by themselves, its because they feel safe (nothing else in the tank) and have adapted to their new home (for a couple weeks now) and are comfortable with their environment (heavily planted, lots of hiding places). Honestly, even when sleeping my Rasboras aren't by each other, the only time I ever see my rasboras school is if they get scared by something (recently the city was working on some street lights by me and disconnected the power briefly 5 times over the course of two hours so the fish suddenly had their lights and filters stop/start working a lot, it freaked them out)

They're in a 37 with a platy , and two bolivian rams, It's super heavily planted, so i guess they feel safe

They won't be afraid of the platy and as long as the Rams aren't breeding they will be fine with the Rasboras. They technically are a schooling fish but in my experience they are a bit more adventurous then other schooling fish and will roam around on their own a lot.

Ok good. I'm very glad they feel safe, I thought I bought the wrong type (I don't know) haha

Mine started to school better with introduction of my Jurupari, I agree with them only schooling when "in danger", and it not being as much of a necessity for them.

Have you tried jumping out and yelling "Boo!"?

It's true that harlies (and most other fish) don't school very tightly once they're relaxed and feeling unthreatened. But they are lots of fun to watch, as they will just keep forming and reforming small groups as they travel endless around the tank. :)

i have noticed they have their own little cliches haha very enjoyable fish :) when we have people over, this tank is the first they check on. And it's in my room so it's like a big ol group of people in my room haha. (we have 6 tanks and this ones one of mine and I feel honored that people think mines the best haha)

lol, it sounds like the tank is very nice looking.

My Black Skirt Tetras (which are normally a "schooling" species of fish) don't even know what the word means :) They are the largest fish in their tank, so they aren't even worried about other fish. However, in my 20gal, the mollies school because they are scared crapless of my Black Moor. It's just that your fish aren't scared of anything in/around their tank is all.
