Harmony?

Hi, I'm Orleans mom:
I have a male Betta and I would like to put him in my 37 gallon tank where I also have 4 dwarf Gouramies and two crescent tailed Mollies. Is this a really bad idea?
Any thoughts...

You will have to see for your self becasue the betta and the gourmai's mgith fight you could put him in there tonight and turn off the light and watch and see how he reacts to the fish and how they react to him. If you see any problems then take him out but if you don't see any problems tonight continue to do this every nigth and turn the light off to see if there's any quirling I have did this wiht my paradise fish I saw that he was fighting with other fish so I put him in a 10g all by himself

Yeah, but the other problem is that two of the Gouramies are pretty badly chewed up from an evil long finned barb which is now in exile. I could't figure out what was wrong with the Gouramies (sp) till I caught the villian tonight. I am running out of places for these fish and this particular Betta seems relatively mellow. I just don't want the Gouramies to get any more abused while I am slumbering.
