harvesting brine shrimp

Brine shrimp net--very loose mesh silk. Works well. Other option is to use a coffee filter--put the filter over a glass, pour some in, wait for the water to drip through, swirl the filter around in the tank. You should rinse them with fresh or tank water first, using either method.

After shuting off the air, the new brine shrimp will be attracted to the light next to the hatch tank. I use a plastic tube about twice the diameter of airline tubing and siphon them into a brine shrimp net that should be available at your local supply store. Coffee filters work but I have found they take much longer time to allow the water to pass through once a few eggs are trapped.
