Has anyone tried this Red Sea CO2 Pro System:

http://www.redseafish.com/co2_pro.asp

It's a supposedly complete setup with everything except the tank. It looks to be about $130 on the internet or $190 with a solenoid control valve that you can hook up to an automatic controller.

Just curious if anyone has tried this for CO2 injection.

I have never used it but it looks kinda "plastic" cheap. You can a better regulator elswhere, JBL is one that I use and have no complaints. You can also go to rexgrigg.com and check out his selection. Anyone I know in here that has used his says they are great. I got my JBL with selenoid at aquariumplants.com for about $70.00.

Max,

I just installed the delux model (with controller) I've had it in place for about 4 days now and love it. I can't say if there are better ones out there as this is my first co2 system. I'm sure there is for a price. I like it because
1, requires a panit ball Co2 tank (if you choose that model)
2, Co2 tanks at local wally world
3, Compact tank fits nicely under tank cabnet
4, Comes with everything you need for complete system
5, Takes the geuss work out of peicing together your Co2 system
6, Reg are made from a reputable manufature. Good quality,no assumption
7, Reactor capable of defusing 180 bmp
8, got the delux model off Ebay for $165 shipped

Hope this helps. I'm sure there are better ones out there, I however didn't want to mess with parting together a system that I know littlet about.

I'm with you - right or wrong I usually go for the "spend a couple of more bucks and get it all in one place" method instead of putting something together myself. Call it a personal fault.

Do you buy new CO2 paintball tanks at the store or get them refilled? How much for that?

Was there a particular ebay seller that you used?

What does the control valve with the solenoid do?

I guess a related question - my Red Sea yeast CO2 system is on a timer to shut off at night. Can you do the same with with this system?

Yep, That is how I have mine setup now, when my lights go off on the digital timer My Co2 shuts down as well. When lights come on in the morning the controller kicks on and out comes the Co2. You could also plug the controller into a ph monitor and have the C02 activate when your ph readings rise to a set limit. Pretty sweet...
