This is my first post here, just wanted to say hello. I've kept various fish for most of my life, but am starting to do more with the hobby. I have a 55gal. with 4 Harlequin Rasboras, 5 guppies, a Chinese algae eater, a red male betta, a horsefaced loach, and 8 ghost shrimp I just added tonight. It also has an Amazon Sword plant, but it is my first live plant and I have alot to learn about them. I am currently cycling a 29 gal. that I plan to breed cherry shrimp in (I'm new to this, too). Anyway, I have to say that there are some very nice looking tanks and fish on this forum, and I'm glad to now be a part of it.

Hi and Welcome.

You could cycle your 29 quickly by running the filter on your 55 for a week. Squeeze the filter material from the 55's filter into the 29s filter media.

Well, I actually just cleaned the filter in the 55 a day or two ago:(. I am using part of the water out of it, though. The 29 was a goldfish tank for a few years, but I let the ammonia get out of control. I'm using the Fluval and media that I just took off of it to help cycle it, too. I bought 10 rosey reds to go in there for a week or two to aid in the process, so it should cycle pretty fast anyway. Thanks for the welcome!
