Hi there! My real name is Katelyn but I love anything with a diesel engine hahaha (hence the screen name). I'm a big truck, mud, and video game type of gal. I am 18 years old and taking a year off of college (I've already been one year). I plan on becoming a heavy equipment operator :grinyes:.
I've always been interested in fish, and already have a 10 gallon that has been in action for 3 years. My dad bought it for me with lots of fish to start off with
. I can say I've made alot of mistakes with that tank and had no idea what the heck cycling was. But I got smarter and began to read more and now understand what needs to be done to keep a healthy tank! The 10 gallon I have only has 1 fish in it right now as the others died off in the early days of my tank. Matter of fact I thought he was a rainbow shark (that's what the pet store told me) and he was friendly . . . FRIENDLY MY BUTT! Man pet shop people are sooo not helpful (usually). He's actually a red tail shark and very very territorial.
I recently bought a 40 gallon tank. Just the tank nothing else yet, I plan on buying things here and there every week for it, and am thinking of doing a fish-in cycle and use a little bit of the material from my already established 10 gallon tank to speed things along.
As for other pets I have 2 kittens (Dozer and Skidder . . Pronounced Dozah and Skiddah, it's a Maine thing), 1 normal ball python (Cloud), and 1 bearded dragon (Spyro). I love all animals . . Now to complete my collection all I need is a dog, a couple ferrets, and a horse :grinyes:!
