Hello. I am new to chat sites and just in the beginning stages of getting an aquarium for our kids and home. I'm looking for all the help I can get and looking forward to picking your brains! From my research so far, I'm leaning towards a saltwater setup but would love feedback on both types. We haven't purchased anything yet and I'm hoping the information from this site will help me decide what is best for our situation. From what I understand larger aquariums tend to be easier to maintain, so at this point, I'm looking for something around 110+ gallons but at this point I also know nothing about filters and equipment needed to maintain a salt or fresh water system. I appreciate any imput. Thank you

Hi, and welcome to the site.

best advice I can give you, is, before you spend a penny on equipment, read, ask questions, read some more, do research, and once you got everything figured out, then start making your purchases.

I spend so much money throughout the years, making wrong decisions, on equipment I didn't need.

It's a great hobby!! Enjoy it!!

:)

Hello and welcome to the AC...

Welcome to AC! Cheech is right...research and ask questions. I think it is best to start with FW. A larger tank is more stable and forgiving IMO, not necessarily easier to maintain since it is physically bigger (more to gravel vac and clean).
