Hi!
I used to keep fish several years ago. Then gave away my 55 gallon tank when I moved to Eastern Oregon. I just got a 14 gallon tank about 6 weeks ago, and started up my fish hobby again. I have 5 female guppies, 2 male guppies, 1 cory cat, 1 pleco and 6 glow-lite tetras. I originally was looking for a site to help me w/guppies because they were flashing and staying at surface of water. I tested water and all my parameters are fine, my ph is 7.8 in the tank and out of the tap, even letting the water stand out for the day. I have a filter and a bubble wall, so I think they are getting plenty of O2. I decided to try a salt water bath, just in case they were getting gill flukes or some kind of parasite. I realize that corys and tetras don't do as well w/salt but there seems to be conflicting opinions about this. So I decided to try it first. Then Quick -cure if this does not work. But already they seem better and the tetras and cory cat don't seem to mind the salt. (I did 2tsp per gallon for the bath) Any help or advice would be appreciated.
