HELP....again

3 weeks ago I changed filters from an Eclipse 3 to a Millenium because I was not satisfied with the results. My tank had already cycled when I changed it. A week after I changed filters my ammonium spiked and my tank started to cycle again the problem is it was stocked so I had to treat the spikes. Some of my fish are looking sickly, but my water quality is back near perfect. Allmost zero ammonia and nitrites. Do you think my fish will start to get better when the water quality goes back up? Any help would be great thanks.

Hopefully they will snap out of it.

You shouldn't take an already established filter out before the other one is established if you have no other forms of denitrifying bacteria. This does set your aquarium back to an almost starter stage and that would explain your problems.

If its back to near normal, your fish will hopefully snap back out of it. Try some water changes to help the established fish along so there's not such a problem.
 
I have done 5 or so.

I have done several water changes over the past few weeks. I am kind of new at this and wasnt even thinking when i switched filters but if they are going to be ok that is fine that is all i am worried about.

no-one can ceartinaly say YES the fish will be ok, can you please tell us the salinity lvls, nitrate, phosphate and also do you treat your tapwater or use a RO/DI filter?
 
I hope you didn't take my "Hopefully" as a yes they will be *OK* because I certainly didn't mean to infer that.

I was assuming you were keeping an eye on your water perameters from your first post with your statement of "water back to near perfect". So I was only suggesting that if this is the case, they *May* come back around.

Sorry for any misunderstandings within my post.

Only a fool would take a may or might as a yes. I check levels almost every day. At last check my Ammonia was a .2, my nitrites the same and my nitrates were zero. As for phosphate my kit did not come with a test for that. My strawberry dottyback died this morning and i am assuming it was from complications due to poor water quality and that is what i put in my saltwater log. I would never hold someone responsible for advice that I solicited.

You might try getting one of the stress coats for s.w. fish. It contains aloe and it will help the ammonia burns heal a little faster and will make your guys a bit more comfortable.
