i just bought a 500 litre per hour pump and my black knife ghost canoot swim properly how can i slow to current?

thanx

What brand of pump is it? Most pumps have a throttle valve on them so that you can alter the flow.

If the pump has no speed adjustment you can try redirecting the nozzle so the heavy current goes into the nearest wall. If its a hang on back keep the water level up and if you can't get some decorations right under the outflow to absorb some of the current.

In either case, as long as the tank isn't tiny, you fish should build up the strentgh for the current over time. As long as he can escape someplace out of the current I wouldn't see it as a problem.

I think you can also stick a piece of sponge up inside of the intake to slow the flow. It may be a little hard on your pump motor, though, so if it's a pricy pump you may not want to try this. And you'd have to periodically clean the sponge to make sure you're getting flow.

imgetting some artificial decorations for it to hide under today and thanx guys for your suggestions ;)
