i have a female guppy with dropsy she is in with a male guppy and plants what is the best cure and what should i do.

Are you absolutely sure that it's dropsy? What symptoms is the fish showing? What is the tank size, stock, and water parameters? If it is in fact dropsy, you're going to have to quarantine the infected fish because I'm pretty sure that dropsy can be contagious. Depending on what "stage" the illness is in there may be nothing you can do... for now you can try antibiotics like Maracyns 1 and 2 once in quarantine.

Are you sure she isn't pregnat/fat from being pregnant. I keep looking at my female gups and I keep thinking they have it, but it's just their fat bellies. Look from above and if the scales are poking out, then it's dropsy.

Could you post some pictures of her? This could help us possibly know whether it's dropsy, bloat from constipation, or maybe just that she's pregnant.

i am absolutely certain it is dropsy:( ,she came out of pregnancy and was still bloated a couple days ago,she has started to get the pinecone effect.she has no pregnancy spot and it seems like it is painful for her to touch things.as for the tank she had just had fry in a five gal bucket, and was put back into her permanent home that is at least a 20 gal round water garden.since then she has been quarintened in another five gal bucket.she is a blond guppy so now i can see little red zig zags where her scales pop up.:1zhelp:

nevermind about her treatment because my beautiful little blond girl died this morning,at least i still have her fry......:(. i would still like to know what i should do with my little male, the fry and thier containers and plants.
