Hi I desperatly need some help. All my fish are dying. 6 died today. I don't have any idea what to do. It is a large tank, I think tropical (set at 28 degrees celcius). I've changed the water a couple of times but they keep on dying. They are all swimming near the top... Is that normal? They don't normally do that. What should I do???

Chlorine/chloarmine?? Aerate right away, then this...

First, add aeration, lots of it.

What sort of water conditioner are you using?

If you use one that says "treats chloramine" but does not add "treats ammonia" and you have chloramine treated water, then the ammonia released kills fish.

If you have ammonia treatments, use this now. No water changes until you have this answer.

Other thoughts, perhaps temp? Soap in bucket?

FWIW, I like Prime best, it works for chlorine and chloramine, ammonia and nitrites and is just good to have on hand for emergencies.

ok, I really am confused, it's my dad's fish tank and he is away,

here are the specs: it's about a 2 foot cube tank. one really huge fish, half a dozen or so medium ones and a lot of little ones. temp set at 28 degrees celcius.

We've been using water ager and conditioning salts to treat new water...

don't know about amnomia, nitrate, pH etc...

water ager?

What is the name of this product, give me the directions also.

Aeration is bubbles, air bubbles, is there an air pump on this tank? Or one handy. If you can find an airpump, run an airstone in the tank to make a lot of bubbles, the extra air will help them breathe if chlorine is damaging gills.
