hey guys i know my 30 gal is overstocked with loaches and im finding ways to handle that but n-e ways i have 3 clown loaches, 1 blue gourami, 1 knight goby, 1 rapheal catfish, 1 SAE, 1 blue tetra and i use to have 5 cardinal tetras but now i only have three?! can u guys tell me who the culprit is..cuz i was planning on getting more cardinals but i dont know if i should

is the gourami much larger than the cardinals? he might have done it, but I'm not sure. have you tested your water (standard ammonia-nitrite-nitrate) to see if your water might have killed them?

I would tend to think your Knight Goby did it. They will eat ANYTHING they can get in their mouths and are carnivores.

They are also brackish water fish and don't belong with freshwater fish.

Yup, that tank has an inappropriate mix of fish in it. You shouldn't get anything until you solve your current problems.

I had the same trouble with my neons. My 4 lined pimadelia cat fish was eating them one by one. SO I had to move him to a diff. tank. Id say that you ll need to buy another tank because you have aggressive and community fish mixed together which is a big no no. Unless you want to keep feeding them lots of money. I was told that Gourami's are very mean so Id either but the tetras in a new home or see if the store will take some fish back and exchange them for ones that will live peacfully together. Good luck. Also buying more tetras now without splitting them up is only giving them some pretty treats when the lights go out at night. Id wait till you fix your problem then get some more.
