My male and femaled spawend today but my male beta is not picking up the unhatched eggs from the floor and the bubble nest will be empty soon..what can i do????

nothing.
YOU cant interfere with the process.
if he doesnt do it now, the fry will not survive even if you do try something.
sorry.

Sooo true ems sometimes the male is just young and has never spawned before or sometimes he just doesnt know what to do? its all a process of finding the right pair!! actually my dad just bought a new male betta to spawn with his female and they spawned the first time last month, and the male didnt pick up any of the eggs, then they spawned again this month and my dad is now raising 11 fry that he did pick up and put in the bubble nest.!

Well i guess i had to do something so i siphoned the eggs from the bottom and then placed a piece of black slate under the nest. the reslut was that dad could finally see the eggs and he picked them all up and placed them back in the nest.........god bless mother nature :D

Here I go again... So, how do you spawn bettas? I don't really get it, I thought that if you put a male and a female together they will fight, is that true? Please help me, I'm interested! Also, what is a good size tank or equipment needed for breeding and what water conditions. (temp, and all the other stuff)

Rubbish !!!!!!!! all it need is a community tank where you prep up a coulple of females for a few weeks with live food and then groom the one male either in the same tank and breeding tank and then buy a breeding tank and voila ,,,,,,,,,,,,two days later we have eggs. Guess it does need a bit of luck. I tried to breed betts years ago and nothing happened. Guess the best advise is to make sure that the females are pretty fat from live food and the males just need to be healthy, water form the main tank needs to be very good quality and bit of this can be used in the breeding tank. The real problems i guess for me are about to start in raising the fry.

True but given that this is my first attempt at spawing...what percentage of the fry will survive does any one have some idea from past experience????????
