Rubbish !!!!!!!! all it need is a community tank where you prep up a coulple of females for a few weeks with live food and then groom the one male either in the same tank and breeding tank and then buy a breeding tank and voila ,,,,,,,,,,,,two days later we have eggs. Guess it does need a bit of luck. I tried to breed betts years ago and nothing happened. Guess the best advise is to make sure that the females are pretty fat from live food and the males just need to be healthy, water form the main tank needs to be very good quality and bit of this can be used in the breeding tank. The real problems i guess for me are about to start in raising the fry.
