Help me sex german blue rams

they may still be too young to sex.
what is the water temp at?
Rams tend to color up more in warmer water.

looks to me like you have a male and a female.
Sexing. Look at their dorsal fins. The first two spines are longer on the male. Males also show more color and grow larger. Females are stockier, plumper, and have blue spangles in that black blotch (males don't). Females also get a faint pink blush on their bellies at spawning time.

A sure fire way of sexing your Rams is to check the black blotch in the fish's side. If there are blue spangled dots in and around it, that's a female.

Females also tend to have a black stripe on the front part of the first fin on their bottom (sorry have no idea what it's called... lol)

I have lots of experience with Microgeophagus ramirezi (GBR's) and I can tell you with 100% certainty that you have a male and a female. The male is the larger one in the front in the first picture. The smaller one is definitely a female. I can barely see her ovipositor sticking out, her pelvic fins are short and do not extend to the start of the anal fin like that of the male's. This is a great way to sex rams from good quality stock. I can also see a plumpness to her belly in the third picture even though you forced me to turn my hed sideways to see it! As far as the blue specks in the black spots determining sex, it's all nonsense. Don't believe a word of it as it's not true. It varies from fish to fish. Some may have blue spots in the black and others won't.
