No Where Kansas
Today I came home and noticed one of my anoles is skinny. I misted the tank thourghaly thinking that it might just be dehydrated, however the more I think about it the tank was already quite moist from natural condensation.

Now I have him in my halfway setup 20g and I have dumped quite a few dusted crickets in there for him to munch on.

What else can I do?

How do you treat for parasites in anoles?

My other anoles look fine other than ones shedding at the moment.

On a side note, how often will my anoles shed, they seem to do it about bi weekly. Is this common?

Obvious question is, how often do you feed them , and how many crickets does each anole get. Bi-weekly sounds a little too much, is the skin peeling off in big chunks or bit by bit?

It comes off as a white skin, about 25" of thier body turns white at a time and they act normal, then pieces start coming off in medium sized pieces and the skin underneath is brighter and looks very healthy. The skin on the lower jaw is normally the first to go, then the top of the head, then the torso, and lastly the legs and tail.

And now that I think about it its actually probably closer to every 2 weeks. I just get them all muddled together as I have 3.

The next question I know is do you have 2 males, No I have 1 Large male, he has a pink throat and no white stripe and also a longer nose, The 2 females have a white stripe, a much smaller pink throat, and a much shorter nose.

I feed them each 5 small 1/4"-3/8"crickets every 3 days. However they normally get a snack of 2 medium 3/8"-5/8" crickets somewhere in between. The crickets are gut loaded with Fishfood and flukers cricket feed and repti vite. Then they are dusted with reptivite and fed.

The tank has water dripping off of several surfaces onto the plants so dehydration is probably not it.

How can I cure him of his parasites?

What do I use.

We use ivomec on our cattle, goats, dogs, horse, and cats, its also what they use for fish. Can I try this in super small amounts?

There's really nothing you can do to treat a reptile that small for parasites. It's even risky to de-worm large reptiles. The best thing you can do is quarantine the anole in a separate tank and make sure it's drinking and getting it's fare share of food.

So, I should pretty much expect this to go downhill then. Thats really sad

I will quarentine him and hope for the best, however tonight he refused his crickets so I harbour no false hopes.

Thanks for the advice.

The others on the other hand however look marvelous.

The sad thing is that most Green Anoles for sale are wild caught and have the ability to harbor parasites. But in most cases, healthy animals are able to pass them without the aid of de-wormer. De-wormer can really screw up an animals insides. It's a very bad idea to use with reptiles you plan on breeding because a lot of times it can make the animal sterile.

You can from time to time find captive bred and born green anoles on Kingsnake.com but they can be pricey because no one really takes the time to breed them and the wild caught ones are just so darn cheap. If you ever want a really neat looking Green Anole, look for a "blue" one. They lack the yellow pigment that makes them green.
