OK, I’ve filled my tank, and set up the Eheim 2026. Now I have a question about the flow & the flow indicator. I used the recommend filter media, and pads, I’ve tuned the overflow correctly, however it seems like the flow indicator is not going as high up in the window as it should, and that the filter does seem to not be pusing out as much as my old Fluval 304. The indicator is covering 2 of the bars while the adjustment is pushed all the way back to the hoses.
I made sure the top filter pad (fine) was on top of the handle in the top basket.
Does anyone else’s 2026 show the indicator like this?

I’m unplugging the filter until I know what, if anything is wrong.

Thanks,

can't see photos but...

I can't see the photos but the ball should be at the top of the levels. First, check your hoses to be sure there is not a bubble stuck in a loop in the line, a bubble can act just like a partially closed valve and slow flow. There should be no loops in the lines, in or out. If so, you need to cut the line shorter. I say that, but I do have one canister that has enough slack that I have to check each time that there is nothing trapped there, but I may move it back to the tank it came from later and I don't want to trim it.

Check to see if the seals are in place between the baskets.( on little tube thing that connects one basket to the other)

There isn’t the white ball in the indicator the way the box shows. It’s a red cylinder that has a spring attached to it.
Sorry about the pic. If you go to http://briefcase.yahoo.com/tazcrash69> and click on the 2026 folder, either picture will show you what is happening.

Also, there is only 1 tube in the baskets, and I used that from the top into the impellor housing.

Ok, so when I primed, I saw an air-bubble go up and down from the canister up the intake hose, back into the can. Is that normal? Shouldn’t it have been pushed out the outflow? It didn’t

Also, I took out all the media, and ran it with the same results. I also disconnected the overflow, and the spray bar, and have the very same flow showing in the indicator.

Thanks

If you are still having problems with the flow... I had the same with my 2028. It's air (like stated above). Just back the flow off to near its minimim limit (the handle almost completely pulled up) and prime it a few times while it's running. Leave it there for about an hour or two. By this time most of the air should be out of the system and you can lower the handle to attain maximum flow.

I'll try that first thing when I get home. Thanks

Never Mind, I took apart the flow indicator, and it was going as high as it could. I just thought it stange that it covered half the window with a red indicator

Thanks all
