I have a tank with 8-10 peacocks, 2 yellow labs, 1 frontosa, and a blue lobster (crawdad). Some of the peacocks 2 females and my male albino are sucked up. Their bellies are not full and are sucked up, The two females have cloudy eye as well (secondary infection???) The albino has tattered fins, havent seen it fighiting. One of the females looks really bad and just hangs at the top by the powerhead. They all eat a lot, i feed a varied diet of pellets, algea (spirulina), and brine and plankton, they all eat everything and are active, except the one female (i think it is too late for her) she eats but is not active. I think it may be some type of internal parisites with some type of a secondary infection. My question is, has anyone seen or heard of this and what did they do for it? Is there any meds. that wont hurt or kill my inverts.? Im currently raising the temp an adding reef salt slowly. Any oither help would be very helpfull.

Yes this condition is actually very common in malawi cichlids. It sounds like what your fish have is called hex... its an internal parasite. It can spread like wildfire in a tank and should be treated asap.

Try Metrinidazol ... 1 tablet crushed per 10 gallons of tank water. Also soaking food in a small bowl full of water mixed with Met will help to get it into thier systems.

What size is your tank btw? Are these new fish?
