I have a 55 gallon marine aquarium with two 6-inch scup. One of them has started to develop fin rot - the fins are fraying an coming off. The other one seems fine (hopefully!) I checked the ammonia level and yesterday it was 1 ppm, today 0.5 ppm. I guess I've been overfeeding them, I haven't done enough water changes, and I haven't been vacuuming under the live rock. I did a few water changes in the last few days and removed my live rock so that I could vacuum the substrate (I put the live rock back in after). I've had the tank since August.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help my fish get better? I was planning to purchase and treat the tank with some melafix since that's what seems to be recommended. I also added in some stress-zyme and I treat my new water with Prime to get rid of the chlorine from the tap water. I don't want my fishy to die =(
