While this is my first post, I have spent much of the last few days reading as many of these posts as I can (and find interesting)

Here is my situation, and then my question.

20 gallon tank

2 Honey Gourami (male & female)
2 three-spot Gourami (male & female)

They are all pretty young, only about 1-1/2 on the honey's, and just about 2 inches on the three-spots. So far they are all happy, without the least bit of agression among themselves.

But you folks have me quite worried about the future. Also I am also looking to add to my tank. I was thinking about a few (3?) albino corys and a school of something small and colorful (tetras?)

Now I am not looking to add all these at once, but I am trying to make a plan....something I probably should have done prior to the 4 Gourami's....but living with what is already done, might I get some incite on how I should fill out my tank.

I don't have any live plants....but have filled in with 4-5 fake ones.

I think that covers my situation...but please let me know of anything I missed

I would deffinatley get the cory catfish they will give you the schooling affect that you want but make it four or five. I love them and watch them all the time. They are some of my favorite fish. Good luck

thanks for the replies and that link...that is one site I had not visited yet!

Let me ask an additional question....with my 20g tank, after the 4 Gourami's how much room do I have left for other fish? Say I take the one person's advice about 4-5 cory cats....will that leave me enough room for a small school or Danios? (like 4-8)
