well a spiny eel is pretty much all freshwater eels...and every "spiny eel" will need a tank bigger than a 10gal fire and tire track eels will need tanks over 55gal i would say 75 would be best(more for the fire than the tiretrack eel) peacock eels could prob live in somethin like a 20 long or in between a 20 long and 55gal..since they average out at about a foot as for fire eels they get up to 3 feet+ tire track eels will prob stop about 2 feet threw 2 1/2 feet and zig zag eels i dont know much about but i think they are like the peacock eels(from what ive read/heard)
and as for settin up a tank around them....well they like sand subtracte lots of hiding spots the more places fish have to hide the more they will come out...they also prefer live foods my fire eel loves live black worms they will prob also take frozen bloodworms etc ive seen mine pick at shirmp pellets too

what info did you want help setting up a spiny eel tank or a cold freshwater bottom feeder?

ooo i see...well hope that info helps

sometime next year I plan to start a striped peacock tank 55+g. so just doing a little research as my LFS isnt very clued up lol. At the moment Im working on my 10g which involves adopting out my goldfish to the LFS who have the massive tanks they deserve. For the 10g I'm thinking tetras a ghost shrimp and a feature fish. currently deciding between a male betta or a gourami or a fancy guppy. need to do more research first. so much conflicting infomation!
