It looks a little faded, you might provide more cover or check you water parameters to see if there's anything that may be stressing it.
That being said, if I'm remembering right females usually retain their stripes, so the fact that this fish is losing them, it is likely male. It also looks like there's some green on the gills, unlike Jack's the males of this species will get greens/blues on their gills. However, this species isn't sexually mature until they get fairly large and can take a long time, so it's hard to say. But I'm leaning toward male.
