hi my betta seems to be prone to internal diseases. it got dropsy once, which I cured using an antibiotic. but now, it seems to have a swim bladder disorder, and it is just floating at the surface of the water in my qt. it still accepts food, and it poos regularly, so i dont think it has an intestinal disease. this guy has been like this for about a month now, but his color is fading away... I asked my lfs already but he wasnt very helpful. he just told me to try and put this little guy in a qt with antibiotics. It had no effects, and you guys are going to be my last hope. i really hate to see living things die, so i would like to save him if it is possible. however, it is pretty old, and im pretty sure that it has gone past his mid point in life, so this may be because of natural causes. but if you have any idea pleaze tell me. thanx in advance.

I have bettas, but luckily I haven't had to deal with this as of yet. I believe I have read adding garlic to their food helps. Like get the garlic pills and open it soak the food in there and feed it to them. I know garlic help with immune systems...but I really can't remember how it was done. So wait for someone else to chime in here, hopefully they will soon. Good luck!
