HELP !

My albino rainbow shark swims with its fins clamped some times and it will frequently do side way somersaults. Increase in hiding and decrease in aggressive-ness whenever other fish enter its territory.

Water parameters have are okay. Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 10. Did 50% water changes for 3 days in a row now. Fish still goes around looking for food though.

It looks otherwise okay, no white with red spots. It is about to swim normally - in a straight line without falling to its side or going upside down..

Is it swim bladder?

Thanks...

Is it erratic swimming??

Some of the symptoms of SBD are:

Fish can not remain in upright position. It may swim to one side, angled, or even upside down. They usuallly become listless and have a hard time ascending/descending in the tank.

What was the last addition/deletion for your tank?

When was your last water change prior to these symptoms? Match water temp, etc.?

What were the readings before this water change?

SBD is usually associated with an acclimation/shock issue with water conditions (ie. plopping new fish into a tank, adding cold water into a tropical heated aquarium, spiking the pH, etc., etc.)

I added cardinal tetras but at that time the shark was still normal..

I did a 50% water after I noticed the shark behaving like this... As far as I can remember, both times (before and after water change), the parameters are okay ammomnia <0 nitrite <0 nitrate <20.

Its not erratic.. The fish doesnt seem to have problem moving- whether its up or down and it swims as per normal. The only abnormality is that it will suddenly speed up and sort of twist its body as if charging at something, but there is nothing.

Now it hides even more often !! What should I do? I am thinking of changing the water 80% and then adding anti-fungal (fin rot, ick..etc) medicine. However, the shark doesnt show any symptoms of those.

Please help... thanks

I think I know how to describe it.. Its like a cowboy riding a bull... That jerking motion is exactly what my fish does.. frequently...

Thanks
