Im looking at my tank and i notice that there is a white film covering the bottom of the ladder to my co2. What is this??? Is this an algea? I want to know what it is, and how to get rid of it IMMEDATLY!!

Here is some info incase anyone needs it to help speed up the process of determining what it is...

I have been re-doing my 30gal planted. I have 3 things of diy co2. I have a high light that i keep on for 9 hours. And my tank is currently going through a cycle.

Can anyone please help me determine what this is and how to get rid of it..???

It's a byproduct of the yeast fermentation process, very common with DIY setups that don't use a bubble counter as a pre-filter of sorts.

Take a small soda bottle and fill it halfway with water. Drill two holes into the cap and run the Co2 tubing to the bottom of the bottle, then run another tubing from the top of the bottle to your ladder. Simple homemade bubble counter that will prevent the yeast gunk from entering your tank because it will be deposited in the counter instead.

Would you mind explaing a bit more?... How come all of the sudden it started doing this and not before, or with any of my other / older set ups?? I always use the exact same measurements for everything when i make my co2. (sugar, yeast, and water) Also.. Why is it only occuring on one ladder not my other ladder or my glass defusier??
