i went to the river last week and i found i baby catfish that is about 1 inch and black.what should i feed it? water requirements?

Not sure, but why don't you see if you can find some information on freshwater catfish fry & feeding on the internet. If you can't, I'd offer it any kind of regular tropical fish flakes, pellets or sticks. I can only tell you that tank-raised catfish (cories) will eat just about anything.....like little garbage disposals.

if you got out of the river its a cold water fish it would eat sinking pellets when it gets bigger it will eat smalller fish

Native species will eat just about anything your other fish will, catfish do well with some spirulina flake or wafers occaisonally. Tmep isn't critical, though obviously a heater isn't necessary. Water mainly needs to be changed regularly and the tank kept clean, same as any fish.

Feed it frozen bloodworms. I find that most fish can't resists them when they're young. It's more likely a Bullhead which are predatory. Try to post some pics up, you might've caught a Madtom which are pretty small.

you can try corn aswell. Makes great chum for catfish and is easy enough for them to eat i'd imagine.

Personally I would be very careful bringing home wild fish. Many cats can reach 50" or more - what are you going to do with it then????
