help with convict aggression

I have a pair of convicts m/f. they recently had their first batch of fry a few days ago. but yesterday, about the 5th day after the eggs hatched, the fry are gone... im guessing eaten by the parents. now, with no fry to look after, the male is constantly harrassing the female to the point where the female's color has completely changed to a dull lighter grey instead of dark grey with bold black stripes. She is now stuck hiding behind a rock because whenever the male sees her, he attacks her. Before they had their fry they would chase each other around the tank and flare their gills at each other, but nothing this bad where the smaller female is forced to hide all the time; she doesn't even come out to eat and I'm getting worried. Can someone please explain whats happening in my tank and if theres anything I should do, like separate them.

If your sure that the parents have ate the fry,
(sometimes they bury the fry in the substrate
you should move one of the fish to another tank if possible
and if not,then put a divider in your tank to give the female
a chance to recover from the amorus antics of the male.

Do you have any other fish in with the convicts?.I heard this happen before with cichlids. If the fry are eaten by a mate, the other mate will try to kill it I'm guessing because the mate ate the fry. I would probably remove the female from the tank. Perhaps whoever ate the fry perceived a threat and ate the fry.

mickey: no, I'm not 100% they ate the fry. Now that you mention it, I did see some of the fry falling into the gravel bed when they swam off the rock they were attached to, so there may still be some under the gravel. I just assumed they ate it because the fry are gone.
oscar_mania: theres also 3 zebra danios in the tank. its a 20g long
