Need some confirmation that I am doing this right or please let me know if I need to change anything.

So I am about 3 weeks into my fishless cycling of a 10 gallon tank. I have been using pure ammonia as my source. My current readings via API tests are ammonia 2ppm , nitrite 0, and nitrate 5. Water temp is 78-80. I have a aquaclear 20 hob with undergravel filters really for oxygen. No charcoal filters on them. I have basic black gravel on the bottom and some java moss in the tank. That is it. I have been doing 50% water changes every 2-3 days to maintain the pH about 6.4 maybe 6.6. I dont add any prime to my water changes.

I have been stuck at this scenario now for about 5 days and wondering what is my next step. Thank you for any help with this.

1) You need not do any water changes till you read Nitrites.
2) Your PH is too low to cycle tank. The good bacteria will not grow in low PH.
3) What is you GK/KH? You need to know this to maintain PH
4) You must always use prime during WC, or the Chloramine ect will kill whatever good bacteria you get.
