I've read that you should do around 5 watts per gallon, but I was wondering if I should get the recommended 150W or if I could go 200W? Would a higher Watt heater cause problems or would it be okay? Also, any brands that you find good? I'll probably go with submersible and will probably order from big als online when I order a few other things.

I'm glad to hear that the stealth is good. That was the main one I was looking at.

I've heard about the two heater thing, and while it makes sense, I'm going to get just one. The aquarium is going to be kept in the warmest room of our house and we would probably notice any major drop in temperature relatively quickly and could replace it then. I'm getting at least a 150W, not sure if I should go ahead and get the 200W or not.

Unless your room temp is 20 degrees below the temperature you want to keep the aquarium at the 100 watt heater is enough. I use the 200 on my 55 gallon; it would be too much for a 29.
