Hi, Im new and it seems like you guys got a nice club here.
Ne ways. I am in the process of making my own custom shaped fish tank.
I am using 1/4 inch think PlexiGlas i got from Home Depot as well as the plexi glue and some Aquarium safe glue. I was planning on using the Plexi glue to join it then cover it with the Fish safe glue to prevent posing the fish. The problem i am having is with the glue itself. I just doesn't want to hold the tank together.
Do you have ne recommendations on a good strong glue to use to join the sides together?
thanks alot

Check this link out - it describes the process of how acrylic bonds, using a solvent - very interesting! Hopefully it's helpful. I found it by putting 'build acrylic aquarium tank' into Google - there's lots of info out there so hopefully you can find something helpful on Google and/or here.
Welcome to AC :D

Have you had any negative side effects using this glue in regard to fish health?
thanks

how big are you trying to make it? or is this just to see how good you can do before you get serious? cause we dont have really good acrylic at homedepot unless you ordered it. you would want to go to a plastic supply if you wanted to get some nice cell cast or something similar.

weld-on you mean? Every acrylic tank in the industry is made using weld-on brand or equivalent.
