I bought a new leopard puffer about a week ago. all he does is lay around on the bottom. He is a ugly brown color except when he finally does swim. He has been eating good until today. His breathing looks fast to me. I thought he was dying a while ago so I moved the plant that was beside it and my puffer puffed. That was about 45 min to 1 hour ago and he is still puffed. Does anyone know how long they stay like that or what I can do to help him. I dont want him to die. By the way I checked his water with a test strip and everything was normal. Help!!!

I dont know. I have one in another tank that is doing great it is a gsp and I have had him for 1 month. I love him. He is a very beautiful fish with great color. I love puffers they are my favorite fish. I would love to have another one but Im just worried b/c of the one I just lost.

Puffers are best kept as singletons anyway. You never know if those 2 would have gotten along. Have you read my article?

Follow that & your puffer will happily live into it's teens. :D
