Just wanted to close this thread out by thanking both of you for your suggestions and knowledge. It is also encouraging to know that by continuing my maintanance schedule and low stocking levels I can maintain a steady pH. I'll now attempt to ween my tanks off of the Neutral Regulator and the phosphates inherent in that product. Without the phosphates perhaps I'm ready to graduate to the next level and set up a planted tank.
