Well my Fancy Guppie isn't swimming straight. She like floats on her side and goes to the top but still eats and stuff. What should I do? should I flush her?

Hello Hello

Personally if i have a sick or damaged fish that i know wont live for much longer i place it in a glass, tub or anything that can hold water and the fish and put it in the freezer, i have never flushed a fish i think it is uncalled for and cruel, i find freezing them a much better way of putting them"Down"than other methods ive heard of i.e cutting, flushing and bashing.

Cheers
Nick

euthanasia flushing is cruel.
I second that.

Where is euthanasia on the poll?

Dunno.

I usually stick them into a container in the freezer. Supposedly, as the cold slows down thier metabolism, they don't feel a thing until they go.

Flushing is only cruel if the fish is still alive. Granted, this fish IS still alive so I wouldn’t flush it, but I see newbs being looked down upon by aquarists all the time because they “flush” a fish. If the fish is dead, it’s dead. Some of us do not carry emotional links to our fish, so therefore to flush him/her doesn’t affect us.

So when a small fish of mine dies, you bet I flush him/her. If it’s a larger fish that typically lives longer, I will bury the fish on my property. But if the fish is alive, I use the freezer method. You’ll get people try to preach to you wherever you go about how to “properly” euthanize a fish but do what you feel is best. Know, however, that flushing a live fish is not considered humane.
