I'm a BRAND new newbie and I did spend the money on the bio-spira and it worked!! I had no clue what a cycle was when I bought my 2 10-gallon tanks AND the fish on the same day. I did 30% water changes every day and tested like crazy with the Aquarium PHarmacueticals master test kit. Some days I did water changes 12 hours apart to keep the ammonia down. The bio-spira had to have worked becuase I know from reading on this board the cycle should have taken much longer. Hang in there. I know it can get frustrating but once the tank cycles it really will be worth it!!!
