Why would a hermit crab be out of his shell? I found one of my hermits out of its shell, it is still moving a little but not much. And should i take him out?

Thanks
Chris

either he was looking for a new shell cus his old ones to small, or hes dead. if hes moving thats a good sign, do you have other shells in the tank on stand-by

i have a bunch of shells for them to move into, should i move one closer to him?

Take a picture! I always wondered what they look like without a shell.

Put him in qt with some shells I let mine rome the tank without one assuming he would get another.. he died.

BtW i meant one of those floating cubes.. I used one the second time it happened.. I have like 8 hermits so i mean they go after eachother and deshell once in awhile.. So I just scoop it up throw abunch of random sized shells in the clear box or w/e it is your using.. and let him find anew home.. much easier than acclimating or any of that and you dont have to move him out of the tank.
