Was looking for a good community setup. I would like to keep mostly schooling fish. So far, all I have is 3 giant danios (~ 2") and a green severum (~4"). I am replacing the severum so I can have more options open to me. I would like to try killifish if I can find an LFS that has them. Any experiances and advice with these fish will help me out. I have also thought about getting some rainbows too. I like the danios, so I might add a few more since they just swim around the top anyways.

When I bought the severum, I was hoping for a more aggresive fish, but she/it just hides and runs away when I am near. She/it has been doing better since adding the danios, but she/it is still shy. I am kinda dissappointed, oh well.

As far as bottom fish, I thought about either kuhli loaches or cories or a bristlenose pleco. I don't do live plants since I don't have the proper setup.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful in my decision. Thanks a bunch in advance. BTW, my filter layout is below.

I don't know that you'd want to keep Killies with Danios (fin-nippers and egg-eaters)...the overabundance of top-dwellers might cause some stress within the tank.

Killies are really best-kept in species aquaria.

Oh.....

Ok, well, what would be best to keep with danios?? Tetras?? I really don't want a tank full of tetras, unless they were like the columbian, congo, or emperors. Maybe I ought to trade the danios for a more suttle fish??? Thanks!

Another note on killies...you can't usually find them in your neighborhood LFS, unless you're talking about the Florida Flagfish. I'd find a Killie person near you by going to the American Killifish Association website: www.aka.org.

You might be able to find The Gold australe, Aphyosemion australe, in your LFS, which, if you are still interested ni keeping killies, is one of the easiest to breed.
