does anyone think this would be big enough fopr a pair of kribs??

any other suggestions for a small tank wlcomed..

(im not a fan of bettas....)

Hi there,

Boy, I'm not sure kribs would be happy in a tank that small. I'd think 10 gallons would do well for a pair, especially if you want to put ANYTHING else in there. Five gallons isn't big enough for anything else to hide if that pair of kribs starts breeding.

Remember, they like real plants, too ... and you'd for sure need a cave of some kind.

Yup, either of those would look nice in a 5-gal. Plus maybe a few cories for bottom clean-up. (They like to be in groups, and they're a lot of fun to watch--lots of personality.)

I like the track you were on with the kribs, though--certainly more interesting than tetras, etc. ... are you SURE you don't want to go for a bigger tank? (Unless this is your 23rd tank or something and you just want to put a small one someplace.)

lol, ive got a pair of kribs in a 30g tank, this is for my bedroom...

just thought theyd be nice as a little species tank, but its too small..

eventually im gonna get upward of a75g (hope, fingers crossed...):D

then im going for full african riverine biotope....
butterfly cichlid,kribs,egyptian mouth brooder....
