high phosphate level

i have a 29 gal tank/established for 4 years,recently had a whit cloudy water condition(i thing it was from a crack in heater)i rented a diatomic filter last night,water is now crystal clear,did put phosguard in filter every wek for a month,ph level is 7.2//but phospate level is still over 1.0!! i removed everything from tank,put in 3 live plants last month with no luck/i have tetras,barbs and mollies in tank(total of 11 fish)i did lose i dalmation mollie and the other looks ill as it does not move very well/any help or suggestions would be appreciated/thanks

I don't know that 1ppm phosphate is anything to worry about. That's what I have out of the tap, and I'm more concerned with a deficiency for the plants.
 
I too am having High Phospate level.
From what I am reading, if it is not doing no harm, leave it alone.
The plants love it.
I am still experimenting on this but my old chemistry says that if I add Baking Soda to the water the PO4 will drop. But the outcome is NaH2PO4 or Na2HP04, both are an acid.
I do notice the my plants are growing faster, so I will keep watching the PO4 level.
