I have noticed that a lot of people will recommend turning the heat up when your fish get sick to help them recover.

Is it bad to keep your tank around 80? like 79 to 82. My bichirs are in this tank. I also have my 29 gallon at about 78. Would keeping it at 80 cause to much stress on the fish? Would it help prevent diseases if I kept it this high?

Depends on the species of fish. The temp in your 46 bow is ideal for the fish you're keeping in it. Though if you choose to keep those fish you'll need to upgrade to a much bigger tank. Somewhere in the neighborhood of a 180g would be ideal, the bichir will reach 18" in length and have grown to 24". As far as the 29 I keep my rams at 80 in a 29g and have no problems.
