i've bought both brands of frozen blood worms, but i've noticed that hikari's worms are smaller than sf's. sf's worms are plump and juicy looking, while hikari's are small, has less meat to it, and the water it's frozen in is very red/bloody. has anyone ever noticed this? im not trying to bash the hikari brand, because i love the variety of foods they have and they've certainly brought out colors in my fish. im just wondering if anyone else has noticed this difference and if this trend is true in other frozen foods.

all i can tell you is that i use hikari blood worms and for a while i couldn't find them and had to use s.f.b and a few weeks after my tanks broke out in funny bumps and spicky things under the skin and i didn't get anything new, so i rack it up to getting ip's from s.f.b worms as hikari states on the front that they are parasite free..? use you own judgement, plus hikari is always bright red and the others are dark almost brown like freezer burnt, i like hikari and wont use another brand anymore..

i've noticed this as well.
although they are smaller, hikari's are bright red and always looks appetizing (well as appetizing as they could look considering its larvae)

also my rummies can actually eat the hikari cause they are small enough.

also i noticed that sf's stuck together in big clumps and always were an ugly color and had a lot of crap that didnt look like it hsould be eaten.

It seems like I get this a lot when I use frozen bloodworms. I thought I was just being paranoid. I stopped feeding them for a while. It's the only time I have problems with my fish. I checked my brand, it's S.F. I'm pitching them.

I just finished some antibiotics and I lost a gourami and another got really sick, but I saved it.

Hikari bloodworms create a frenzy in my tank like no other. Ive used SF brand frozen foods and my fish definatly like Hikari frozen better.

Yeah....those are my thoughts as well.

SF bay and hikari are both great.....but they dont compare to some of the food I got at goldfishconnection.com....now THAT is some amazing fish food. Only downside is that the stuff has to be eaten fast. Like, in the first 6 months.
