So my family is staying at the hilton hawaiian village and one of the first things I noticed are their HUGE ponds that are literally everywhere, like on the side of almost every walkway its amazing! They have hundreds of enormous kois, but later after looking at thema while I realized there are thousands and thousands of cichlids, mostly brilliant blue ones but the sheer number is crazy! Heres some pics

It's awesome to see fish like this in such a large environment, rather than what they typically end up in. At FIU, they have have a huge pond in the middle of the campus, with various cichlids, 1 or 2 large pacus, and a couple of different species of turtles. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they were fish that belonged to students who didn't have the space for them as they grew.
