hole in head oscar

Oscars naturally have pin-sized holes in their head. Can you give us a picture of the oscar?

There isn't much you can do for hole in the head. The Oscar will eventually die. Mine lived for almost 2 years with it before it got him. No your other fish won't get it.

I do not agree about your oscar being dead just because it has hole in the head. There is much controversy about what causes hith, but most tend to agree that the cause is poor water conditions and large amounts of inbreeding in oscars to obtain desired coloration. The first thing you should do is get your water parameters under control. Make sure that you have absolutley no ammonia or nitrites and if you have high levels of nitrates do water changes untill it is at a managable level.

other things such as overfeeding and use of a UGF can cause problems.....

if your test kits say everything is ok, then take your water to a LFS and ask them to test it for you. They will check the accuracy of your kits to make sure they are functioning properly.
