hole in the head

my oscar looks like it has the early symptoms of hole in the head and i would like to know of any good articles i could read to better know my enemy. thanks a lot.

Your over feeding it! Thats what the people at petsmart told me! How do u feed it???

What are you feeding the oscar? Are you just feeding it feeders or what?

I don't have any literature to link for you, but when I began having HITH problems with some of my stock, I switched over from doing 20% weekly water changes to doing at least 75% a week. I also cut out live feeders from the diet.

I've never had the problem again, and my fish were able to heal without scars/missing tissue in their heads b/c it was caught early.
