Honey Sunset Gourami.......aggresive?

While the employee may have been a little off I'm actually glad an employee was asking questions and looking out for other fish that might be in your tank. Its refreshing to hear. I have kept more then one male gourami in a tank together and I don't recommend it. The one picked on the other quite a bit. I guess it just depends on the fish.

That is why we ask here for advice instead of at the lfs lol. I had two honey gouramis in my last tank and they were by far the most peaceful fish in there. Actually they are quite timid and like to hide a lot so you probably won't see them too too much. They are total sweethearts! Go get em and good luck with them!

Honey Gouramis are NOT the same thing as "Honey Sunset" Gouramis. Honeys (Colisa Chuna) are indeed very peaceful. "Honey Sunset" are a frequently used mislabel for the Red variety of Dwarf Gourami (Colisa Lalia). I've seen them named "Sunset", "Fire", "Blush", and "Rose"...

OP- Post a pic if possible. As long as you got only one, I think you're good either way.

Just for clarification I only bought ONE and do not plan on getting any other Gouramis. As I understand it, most of them are only aggressive towards other Gouramis, so I thought I would be fine. This seems to be the concensus here, I will try to get a picture up asap since there is always the possibility that it was labelled wrong.

I think you're good Dekz, but pics are always appreciated. :)
