why not just hang a shoplight above your tank? It's nice and cheap =D. Wal-mart has a light fixture (24 inch, 1 bulb) for $10. Buy a few and you should be ready to go.

Well, I would, but I still live with my parents. My mom is very picky about things looking nice, and I don't think she'd appreciate the mega-cheapo-duct tape look. Thanks for posting, though.

Well, there are two switches. So you can just turn on one light at a time which is 65 watts.
