I have been all over the net and I keep getting big time different answers. Some sites say they max out at 4", some say 10". Now we have quite a difference here. I currently have 4 in a 55 which I could transfer them to a 120 shortly when I move some of my 120 guys to the outdoor pond. Has anyone raised any large pictus cats?

There is two kinds of pictus, by the sizes you have given im sure your are talking about pim pictus, pim-pictus reach an adult size of 4.5", i know because i have rased several and have spoken with other people who have also raised them, i ran into the same problem with the size thing when i first researched them. For catfish info one site that is never wrong is planetcatfish.com. They also have a forum. The other kind of pictus is the lerius pictus (mot likely spelled that one wrong:rolleyes: ) the lerius can reach over two feet and isnt anywhere near as common in the trade. Good luck with your pictus, and the fifty five should be perect for them.

I have read sites that state the pimelodus pictus reach 10" as well. I have had one for well over a year and 4.5" seems to be as big as it is going to get.

Ya, I have four of them in a 55 and they are doing great. They are diverse. One hides almost all the time, another hides quite a bit and the other two are usually swimming behind the plants. I very rarely see them together except on occasion when they chase each other. Everything else seems fine.
