How do I get rid of a smoke smell from the microwave?

My son decided to microwave some chicken nuggets and when he did he used the cooking time to for a conventional oven and so set the timer for 23 minutes and went back to playing Halo. After removing the cracked plate and the chicken nugget remains and airing out the house for hours, there is still a bad smoke smell in the kitchen. What should I clean the inside of the oven with to help rid it of this oder?

Frebreeze, and charcoal. Hit it with the frebreeze, then set a big plate of charcoal in the oven. It acts like activated carbon and will remove some of the smell.

Have your son use his allowance-paycheck to buy a new one.

You could try putting a bowl of vinegar water in the microwave, turn it on til the water starts to boil, take it out, clean the inside of the microwave good...put a box of baking soda close to it. The smell should fade over time..

Take every suggestion you get (sorry but I don't have one) and give it to your son. A perfect way to spend his Saturday!

take some lemon wedges (and water) or lemon juice and stick it in the microwave for 3-5 minutes.

Not sure if it would work for smoke, but it works for popcorn.
