How do I get rid of planaria?

i would suggest against putting mammal meat into a fish tank to control planaria or other nematodes. fish are not supposed to eat mammal meat and could very well snack on it.

planaria and most other freshwater nematodes are harmless to fish, they are just unsightly. suck them up with gravel vacc'ing and water changes.

a sprinkle of fenbendazole (lifeguard canine dewormer) did the trick in my fry tanks. I was actually getting rid of hydra but I noticed worms gone as well. It did not affect any fry, snails, or shrimp in the tanks.
