How do I safely dispose of common pond snails and Ramshorn snails? I feel bad killing them but I'm not sure if they are naturally native to this area (New England). So, what should I do to get rid of a tank full of them?

if your have small snails, a clown loach will do the job, they love it. will take care of all the snail problems, however if they're pretty nice size then with out killing them you might want to drop them off at you LFS, if they want it. pretty sure they have their share of snails.

That's my suggestion too. I don't see why they wouldn't take them if you were willing to give them away.

just take them out one at a time (this will take a while with the little ones growing up in waves, jus don let them lay any more eggs my moving them as soon as you find them), if u don want to kill them, then just put them in a separate container that you add food to everyonce in a while, i performed genetic experiments on my snails that i had in my snail tank, through selective breeding.. now i have several colors of pond snails... gl hf!

I'm sure someone in your area wants them. I'd kill to have someone throwing me snails weekly.

As it is I'm going to have to raise my own and thanks to someone in this forum I'll have a nice headstart.
